CUSCO SOUTH VALLEY TOUR
Tour Start
We begin by picking you up from your hotel between 08:30 and 08:45 hrs. At 09:00 hrs, we will start the tour of the fascinating Cusco South Valley, a route combining archaeological wonders, pre-Inca and Inca heritage, and unique gastronomic experiences.
Tipón
Our first stop will be the Tipón Archaeological Park, known for its advanced system of channels and agricultural terraces. This site is a gem of Inca hydraulic engineering, where water flows with precision and harmony to this day.
Pikillacta
Next, we will head to Pikillacta, an impressive citadel of the Wari culture. Here we will discover its walls, streets, and plazas, showcasing the remarkable urban planning of a civilization that flourished before the Inca Empire.
Andahuaylillas
Our next stop will be the famous Andahuaylillas Chapel, known as the “Sistine Chapel of America”. Its interior is adorned with mural paintings, golden altars, and architecture that blends the religious and artistic into a masterpiece of the colonial period.
Gastronomic Tour
On the way back, we will take a gastronomic tour through the traditional towns of southern Cusco:
- Oropesa: we will taste the famous “chuta” bread, a local pride.
- Tipón: we will enjoy the traditional cuy al horno (roast guinea pig), prepared in the Cusco style.
- Saylla: we will stop for lunch and try the best chicharrones of Cusco (fried pork belly).
Return to Cusco
After lunch, we will return to the city of Cusco, finishing the tour near the Plaza de Armas, ideal for continuing to explore the charms of the historic center.
