SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS – COMPLETE EXPERIENCE
Tour Start
We begin with pick-up from your hotel between 07:30 and 08:00 hrs. We will take the scenic route to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, known for its ancient terraces, winding rivers, and villages that preserve their Andean essence.
Chinchero
Our first visit is Chinchero, a high-altitude town where we will visit a traditional textile workshop. You will see up close how fibers are washed, dyed, and woven using plants and minerals, just as the ancient Andean masters did.
Maras and Salt Mines
Next, we head to Maras (approx. 40 min), home of the famous Salt Mines. Over 3,000 active salt ponds form a unique mosaic on the hillside, a perfect setting for photographs and to understand the importance of salt trade since pre-Hispanic times.
Urubamba and Lunch
We continue to Urubamba, the heart of the valley, to enjoy a buffet lunch with local flavors. It will be the ideal time to recharge and appreciate the natural surroundings among the mountains.
Ceramics Seminar
After lunch, we will visit the renowned Ceramics Seminar. We will observe handmade pieces that blend ancient techniques with contemporary proposals, a dialogue between tradition and modern art.
Ollantaytambo
We proceed to Ollantaytambo, the “Living Inca City”. We will ascend the terraces to the Temple of the Sun to enjoy spectacular views of the valley and understand the engineering, astronomy, and urban planning of the Inca world.
Return to Cusco
At the end, we return to Cusco and drop you off at the historic center, ideal for ending the day with a walk or dinner at the Plaza de Armas.
